Woolworks news for December

This is the time of year when knitters and crocheters think about the holidays and what they can make for loved ones. We have lots of ideas for you. Many new yarns for the season are arriving weekly if not daily. Here's the short list:
Cricket from Reynolds is a 52% rayon/48% wool, 5 sts/inch on a 5. (dk). This has a lovely subtle sheen and the rayon adds a nice touch and drape.
Marble now is available in baby colors in dk weight as well. Nice colors in all varieties, yardage is great and the price even better, wash and dry acrylic.
Kertzer Northern worsted acrylic machine wash/dry. 16 colors.
Kertzer Northern chunky acrylic, machine wash/dry, 8 colors.
Mission Falls 136 dk merino. Love this stuff. 14 fabulous colors.
Lana loft from BrownSheep is a 100% wool worsted/aran in 3 natural colors. Many more available. Ask to see the color cards.
Paradise from Nashua, 48% wool/40% baby alpaca/4%nylon. worsted weight in 7 lovely jeweltone colors.
On-Line supersock 100, 420 meters of sweet self patterning yarn so everyone can think you worked really hard on those socks. Wonderful colors, 8 to choose from.
New needle cases from Lantern Moon. Gorgeous silks.
Mini Mochi sock yarn from Crystal Palace is a very fun brighter self striping yarn with just a little more 'wooly-ness' for those that love winter socks. Fingering weight 195 yds and 12 colors to choose from. Makes a great hat or baby surprise sweater as well.
MMMMMM Malabrigo...chunky, worsted and sock! Yummy colors all here for the touching. Have to touch this stuff. This is a very popular yarn and hard to get from Uraquay. It's like wearing your favorite blanket. This makes great snowborder, earflap style hats. Also Magnum from Cascade is available for a one skein hat or scarf in a super light bulky yarn.
To add to the chunky or bulky section, is Lei, a very nice merino. Come check out the super chunky, fast knit, cabled scarf/wrap. This is very soft and warm not to mention the latest in the fashion magazines.

End of the year Sale!

I know, I know it's not Super Bowl yet! Well I had an idea that if I had a sale now I wouldn't have to count the yarn. Inventory is a bear and I don't relish doing it, even with help. So why not come in this week between Christmas and Jan 3rd and get additional discounts? I promise it will be worth the trip. Of course the earlier in the week you shop the better the selection. Sale prices will be on present stock only no special orders please, I'm cleaning! This weekend was busy and lots went out already so if you are so inclined and need a new project now that the holiday stress knitting is over, come on in and visit for a while and maybe just maybe you'll see something you can't live without. Don't forget the samples are for sale too!
It's a great time to try socks, they are great small projects to bring to your kid's sports events or while waiting in the Dr.'s office, or just cozy in your chair at home. Start now for next year and you'll have a less stressful holiday season.

Afghans are also popular after holiday projects. They keep you warm while you knit or crochet .
How about that sweater you always wanted to make for yourself? Now's the time. With all you do you everyone else, it's time to think about you. There are so many patterns to choose from and lovely yarns to delight your senses. Happy Knitting and see you all soon.

Sample Sale!

We have finally decided to sell some of our samples! I know there are a few of you out there that had your eye on something, now's the time. We will sell the hats in the window if they are ours. There are a few that were gracously lent to us to fill the window. We have baby sweaters, womens sweaters, kids sweaters, mittens and hats. If we made the item we can sell it, with this in mind, we are unable to sell items on loan from yarn companies. Come on in and see what's available. You could make it yourself, but why?
