Woolworks news for December

This is the time of year when knitters and crocheters think about the holidays and what they can make for loved ones. We have lots of ideas for you. Many new yarns for the season are arriving weekly if not daily. Here's the short list:
Cricket from Reynolds is a 52% rayon/48% wool, 5 sts/inch on a 5. (dk). This has a lovely subtle sheen and the rayon adds a nice touch and drape.
Marble now is available in baby colors in dk weight as well. Nice colors in all varieties, yardage is great and the price even better, wash and dry acrylic.
Kertzer Northern worsted acrylic machine wash/dry. 16 colors.
Kertzer Northern chunky acrylic, machine wash/dry, 8 colors.
Mission Falls 136 dk merino. Love this stuff. 14 fabulous colors.
Lana loft from BrownSheep is a 100% wool worsted/aran in 3 natural colors. Many more available. Ask to see the color cards.
Paradise from Nashua, 48% wool/40% baby alpaca/4%nylon. worsted weight in 7 lovely jeweltone colors.
On-Line supersock 100, 420 meters of sweet self patterning yarn so everyone can think you worked really hard on those socks. Wonderful colors, 8 to choose from.
New needle cases from Lantern Moon. Gorgeous silks.
Mini Mochi sock yarn from Crystal Palace is a very fun brighter self striping yarn with just a little more 'wooly-ness' for those that love winter socks. Fingering weight 195 yds and 12 colors to choose from. Makes a great hat or baby surprise sweater as well.
MMMMMM Malabrigo...chunky, worsted and sock! Yummy colors all here for the touching. Have to touch this stuff. This is a very popular yarn and hard to get from Uraquay. It's like wearing your favorite blanket. This makes great snowborder, earflap style hats. Also Magnum from Cascade is available for a one skein hat or scarf in a super light bulky yarn.
To add to the chunky or bulky section, is Lei, a very nice merino. Come check out the super chunky, fast knit, cabled scarf/wrap. This is very soft and warm not to mention the latest in the fashion magazines.

Coming Soon...Mission Falls and Ellen Cooper Yarn Sonnets!

Keep an eye out for the new lines coming in. We are very excited to add these lovely yarns to our inventory. The colors of the Mission Falls are just gorgoeous and not like any other. The 1824 Wool and 1824 Cotton are interchangeable as far a gauge. 18 stitches in 4 inches and 24 rows. Very cool! The pattern support for these yarns is wonderful, lots of childrens patterns that are unique and colorful. The wool is a very soft superwash merino! Yippee! Superwash.
Ellen Coopers yarn is LOCAL and this yarn can sell itself. Her colorways are interesting and the fiber options are numerous. I had to hold back on buying, Icould have taken all the colors. I have chosen the superwash in a worsted weight. There are many others to chose from and I am open to getting more when we see how this goes.
This week we recieved some items from Knit one, Crochet too. Some lovely hand dyed Ambrosia, a delicious blend of luxury fibers for those very special gloves. "Linus" is a new yarn for them and the pattern I chose is adoreable. Check out knitonecrochettoo.com for the fish pattern," Gone fishing", I have all the colors for this sweater and the yarn is a merino, acrylic and alpaca blend.
