GETTING A HANDLE ON THINGS

As the weather gets warmer, more and more of us are reaching in our closets and dressers and pulling out our spring garments. With the garments come the shoes and of course, we need our fun spring time bags to match our less bulky ensembles.

Many knitted and crocheted bags look great with I-cord handles, but there comes a time when you have that really special project that can only be finished off with a quality, handcrafted handle. It's amazing how something like a purse handle can make all the difference in the world.

Here at Woolworks we have a great assortment of handles to choose from. Here are a few:

Now that we're on the topic of getting a handle on things, our poet Ida Berris has written a poem for Sue, who is known for her no nonsense, "you can do it" attitude which has gotten many a knitter through some harrowing times!

ODE TO SUE

Sue, I have a problem requiring your skill
Ida, do it yourself! You have the will.

But Sue, you're so smart and wise and able.
I can't do this fancy-schmancy cable.

Cable, schmable, take a look at your stitch.
Oh please, Sue, I don't know which stitch is which.

Cables are fun if you know what to do.
So true Sue. That's why I brought it to you!

Ida Berris

Thank you Ida! Your words always put a smile on our faces! Happy Knitting and Crocheting to all!!
